Entry Topic Requirement
The Contest is an automation design competition with the theme of "Seeking Smart IIoT Talents". Following recent trends in industrial automation such as Industry 4.0 and Made in China 2025, students are required to focus on one of three tracks: "Innovative Machines","Smart Factory", or "Better Future Living". They will also need to build entries that integrate Delta's industrial automation products and technology for: production process optimization, management efficiency enhancement, higher safety & reliability, quality improvement, energy-savings, default diagnosis & predictive maintenance, and green solutions. Innovative industrial technologies, approaches, applications, creative ideas for smart future, networking, IIoT, and big data are also appreciated for the Contest.
Students should choose a track, and design & create a complete entry by using Delta's industrial automation products such as PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), PACs (Programmable Automation Controllers) and Motion Control Cards, AC Servo Drives and Motors (Servo Systems), AC Motor Drives (Inverters), HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces), SCADA systems, and industrial robots. Students can go to https://www.deltaww.com/en-US/products/Industrial-Automation/ALL/ and find out more information about Delta's industrial automation products.
Practicality, applicability, automation development and eco-friendly manufacturing trends should be taken into consideration for all entries for the realization of smart, green manufacturing.
a) Innovative Machines
The Innovative Machines track requires students to use Delta's automation products for substantial innovations in new technologies, processes, and applications, such as efficiency enhancement, process optimization, energy conservation, convenience application, and user habit transformation. (The integration of automation with new technology, techniques, and applications should be achieved based on practical designs and solutions.)
b) Smart Factory
For the Smart Factory track, students are expected to present realistic solutions or approaches with digitalization, IIoT, and big data management for optimized production processes, high-efficiency management & production, enhanced safety & reliability, quality improvement, energy savings, predictive diagnosis and maintenance, and green solutions.
c) Better Future Living
The Better Future Living track asks students to echo Delta's brand promise of "Smarter. Greener. Together." and build a creative and practical solution for a comfortable, convenient, harmonious, and green future lifestyle. For example, students could integrate Delta IA products / building automation devices and build innovative solutions that improve city transportation, smart & green buildings, aquaculture, food and beverages, sports and recreation facilities, health and senior care, solar energy, service robots, AI equipment, as well as green energy, alternative energy, wearable technology, digital communication, and smart homes.
The purpose would be to save energy, limit noise, reduce waste, cleanse and enhance the environment, and improve public health.
